          The Sacrament of Reconciliation is availabe at parishes throughout Winnipeg. The following is a list of some of times and locations at which it is available:

          • St. Boniface Cathedral
            - Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 PM
            - 190 De la Cathedrale Ave

          • St. Ignatius
            - Fridays at 4:00 PM
            - Saturdays at 7:00 PM
            - 255 Stafford Street

          • Our Lady of Victory Parish
            - Saturdays from 3:00 to 3:50 PM
            - 249 Arnold Ave

          • St. John Brebeuf Parish
            - Saturdays from 4:15 to 4:45 PM
            - 1707 John Brebeuf Place

          • St. Anthony of Padua
            - Saturdays from 3:00 to 3:45 PM
            - 250 Burrin Ave

          • St. Mary's Cathedral
            - Tuesday to Friday starting at 11:30 AM
            - 353 St. Mary Ave

          • St. Vital Parish
            - Before and after all masses
            (Mass times are 7:00 PM Monday to Friday; 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM Saturday; 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 8:00 PM Sunday)

          More on the Sacrament of Reconciliation from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

            "1455 The confession (or disclosure) of sins, even from a simply human point of view, frees us and facilitates our reconciliation with others. Through such an admission man looks squarely at the sins he is guilty of, takes responsibility for them, and thereby opens himself again to God and to the communion of the Church in order to make a new future possible"

            "1496 The spiritual effects of the sacrament of Penance are:

            • Reconciliation with God by which the penitent recovers grace;
            • Reconciliation with the Church;
            • Remission of the eternal punishment incurred by mortal sins;
            • Remission, at least in part, of temporal punishments resulting from sin;
            • Peace and serenity of conscience, and spiritual consolation;
            • An increase of spiritual strength for the Christian battle. "

            "1457 According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year."

            "1458 ... the regular confession of our venial sins helps us form our conscience, fight against evil tendencies, let ourselves be healed by Christ and progress in the life of the Spirit. By receiving more frequently through this sacrament the gift of the Father's mercy, we are spurred to be merciful as he is merciful."
